An overview of the CITB Directors Role for Health and Safety Training Course:
This course has been devised for company directors and senior management team members with a strategic health and safety position in the built environment including:
- Recognise the moral, economic and legal costs/implications of decisions made in the boardroom that may make their business liable
- Understand the significance of strategic management of risks
- Appreciate the range of consequences from failing to manage health and safety effectively
- Understand the importance of competent duty holders, and the significance of their cooperation, communication and coordination of health and safety on projects
- Recognise the need to appoint competent health and safety assistance, and the limitations of such an appointment, and
- Identify the basic tools to introduce a proactive health and safety culture into an organisation, and the benefits of this approach
Course Delivery:
Delegates will need to complete a pre-course eLearning document which lasts approximately 1.5 hours. Successful completion of this component generates a digital certificate, a copy of which needs to be emailed to Target Zero.
All delegates must have either previously completed a CITB DRHS course or have sound working knowledge of the following:
- Health and Safety at Work etc. Act 1974
- Employers’ Liability (Compulsory Insurance) Act 1969
- Construction (Design and Management) Regulations (CDM) 2015
- Management of Health and Safety at Work Regulations 1999
The exam is in two parts:
- Part A will cover questions related to the course.
- Part B covers questions relating to a case study.
Certificate:
The certificate lasts 5 years, whereby the delegate may look to book the NEBOSH course.
Booking:
Once you have booked online you will be emailed Joining Instructions, confirming the course details. Before booking, please note that you need to have adequate IT skills and a laptop or computer which has a working microphone and camera (not an IPad or mobile phone).
We ask you to complete an Initial Assessment via a link that is emailed to you. It is a CITB requirement that all delegates have a sufficient level and understanding of English to take the course.
You will receive an email with the Zoom link to the course at 6pm the evening before the course start date. Check your Junk folder and if it has not been received by 8.15am, call us on 0333 444 0018. We recommend downloading Zoom before the course via Google Chrome.
We ask you to log on at 8am to ensure that you don’t have any problems connecting to Zoom. The course starts at 8.30am.
There will be a link in the Joining Instructions for you to complete the Delegate Information Form before attending the course which is a mandatory CITB requirement.
Confirmation of your result will be emailed shortly following the course completion.
