If you are stepping into or already working in a supervisory role on a construction site, the CITB SSSTS (Site Supervisor Safety Training Scheme) course is a must-have qualification. Before you book, it is important to understand the course requirements so you are fully prepared to succeed.
What Are the SSSTS Course Requirements?
1. English Language Proficiency
You must have a good understanding of spoken and written English, as all course materials, discussions and the final exam are delivered in English.
2. Age and Identification
Delegates are generally expected to be over 18 years old and will need to provide valid photo identification such as a passport or driving licence.
3. Suitable Role or Career Progression
The SSSTS course is designed for site supervisors, foremen or those preparing to move into supervisory responsibilities. Previous construction experience is recommended to get the most out of the course.
4. Attendance and Assessment Commitment
The SSSTS is a two day course. Full attendance is required on both days, including participation in discussions and practical exercises. At the end you must successfully complete a multiple choice exam to earn your CITB certificate which is valid for five years.
