Who needs SMSTS?

SMSTS is the qualification principal contractors will ask for by name. If a job advert for a construction site manager role lists a health and safety requirement, it will almost always specify SMSTS. Who needs the NEBOSH General Certificate?

How do SMSTS and NEBOSH fit with NVQs and CSCS cards?

Neither SMSTS nor NEBOSH alone qualifies you for the CSCS Black Manager card. The black card requires an NVQ Level 5, 6 or 7 in a relevant construction management qualification.
