If you are an experienced Steel Erector or Rigger and are looking to prove your competence on site, the ECITB ECITB Level 3 in Engineering Construction Lifting, Positioning and Installing Structures, Plant and Equipment is the qualification you need. Designed for experienced operatives this nationally recognised course is assessed on site and by online knowledge tests. By completing this Level 3 NVQ in either Erecting or Rigging, you’ll demonstrate your skills in lifting tasks, meet industry standards, and take the next step in your construction career with confidence. Both pathways are vital in the engineering construction industry, working to strictly defined processes and exacting standards. Erectors and Riggers work at a skilled craft level and are overseen by a Supervisor.
Both pathways collectively and are responsible for the assembly, installation and movement of plant and the associated components. They need to have an understanding of and interpret the specifications, engineering drawings and diagrams as well as the hazards and health, safety and environmental requirements of plant and systems on-site.
