If you are existing Site Supervisor role or are looking for a supervisory role in construction, the CITB Site Supervisors’ Safety Training Scheme is a vital training course for your career. There were 39 fatal injuries to UK construction workers throughout 2020-21, according to the Health and Safety Executive. This has risen from the average number of 36 fatalities during 2016-17. Site Supervisors and integral in implementing H&S measures to protect themselves and everyone working on site.
Where to take the SSSTS Course
Target Zero offers two convenient options for course delegates who are interested in booking their training. These are classroom based or online.
Onsite SSSTS Course
Course delegates can attend their SSSTS course at our training centres, including Chelmsford, Sheffield, Crawley and Peterborough. This is a 2-day course, and participants must take part on both days to enable them to sit the exam for the Construction Site Supervisor’s Safety Certificate.
Online SSSTS Course
Your other option is book the SSSTS Online Course, which is a convenient and flexible way to complete your training. Remote learning means that you can access our training from wherever you’re based –at home, your office or any other remote location that is convenient to you. This also makes our training more accessible to UK course delegates who don’t live or work near to our training venues.
The SSSTS Online Course is held online and is presented just as it would be in the classroom, but via Zoom video conferencing instead. You’ll have plenty of opportunity to ask questions and participate in group discussions. As with the in-person SSSTS course, you will be expected to attend both days of the training to receive your course certificate.

Qualifications and next steps
Whether you take the SSSTS Online Course or opt for the in-person training program, the certification process works in the same way.
You take a 30-minute exam at the end of the second day. This will ask you a series of multiple-choice questions, all based on the information you’ve gained during the course. Once you have passed the training, you will receive your CITB SSSTS certificate via email.
Your qualification is valid for 5 years and you have the option to renew it with a 1-day refresher.
