The scheme consists of 9 modules – Modules 1-6 from SHEA Core and Modules 14, 15 and 16 specific to the UK gas industry. Individuals must successfully complete training and assessment for all 9 modules. SHEA Gas can only be delivered by EUSR Approved Trainers.
Course overview
This EUSR SHEA Core course covers the following modules:
- Understanding our workplace responsibilities
- Understanding the effects of our work on the environment
- Identifying and controlling risks
- Common hazards and controls in the workplace
- Occupational health hazards
- Responding to emergencies
GAS units
Highway working and excavations (Gas) – Understanding of the processes and procedures required to work in the highway; including both public and private environments and creating a safe working environment via safe systems of work in order to avoid other utility services, as well as what to do in the case of an emergency.
Pressure regulating installations – Understanding of the journey gas makes from beach to meter and the types of risks associated with pressure regulating gas installations.
Safety in premises – Understanding of how to work safely in domestic and commercial premises, in addition to communicating effectively with customers.
Assessment
There is a multiple-choice assessment for each module and confirmation of your result will provided on the day.
Card
Delegates will be provided with information relating to the virtual card online app VIRCARDA. Shortly after results are processed by EUSR, delegates will receive a text message or email with login details for the VIRCARDA app which will enable them to view their card/s. All cards are partnered with the CSCS card scheme allowing the holder access UK construction sites without the need for another card.
