The NEBOSH General Certificate in Occupational Health and Safety is a highly regarded qualification for individuals pursuing a career in health and safety management. Recognised globally and often listed as a requirement for the majority of health and safety job roles, it equips professionals with the knowledge and skills to effectively manage workplace risks and ensure legal compliance.
NEBOSH General Certificate Exam Assessment
- NG1 Open Book Exam:
The NG1 open book exam is conducted online and must be submitted via the NEBOSH exam portal. You are allotted 24 hours starting from 11am (UK time) on the exam day to complete and upload your exam. To pass, you need to achieve a minimum of 45 marks.
- NG2 Practical Assessment:
The NG2 is a detailed risk assessment based on a scenario provided by NEBOSH and must be submitted via email by the specified deadline.
- Grading and Qualification Outcome:
For the NG1 exam, you will receive a grading based on the marks attained:
Pass: 45-64 marks, Credit: 65-74 marks, Distinction: 75+ marks
Your overall qualification grade is determined by your performance in the NG1 open book exam. Additionally, for the NG2 assessment, you will either receive a pass or a refer (fail) grade, which contributes to your final qualification outcome.
